Our departments 

At the Villa Melitta private healthcare facility, the following rehabilitation departments are available to patients:

  • Orthopaedics and traumatology
    • treatment following a surgical operation on the motor system (e.g. joint replacement)
    • treatment of degenerative joints and spinal column, discopathy, swollen arteries, posture problems in children, adolescents and adults
    • treatment following wounds to soft tissue and bones

  • Surgery
    • treatment of patients who have undergone operations in the thorax or abdomen areas, including organ transplants, and patients with multiple traumas

  • Internal medicine
    treatments for
    • cardiovascular and circulatory diseases
    • bronchial and pulmonary diseases
    • rheumatoid illnesses
    • metabolic and endocrinal illnesses

  • Neurology and neurosurgery
    • treatment for strokes and spastic-type motor problems
    • treatment for Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, paresis, paraplegia
    • treatment following craniocerebral lesions or brain surgery
    • treatment following spinal disc replacement
    • treatment following nerve repair

  • Geriatrics
    • treatment of patients suffering from the most common motor, cardiovascular and respiratory problems found in the elderly
    • support for the elderly to improve self-sufficiency, incentivise movement and avoid damage to organs and systems due to inactivity

  • Sports medicine
    • assisting healthy athletes and helping injured athletes recover the functions they have lost during their free time and competitive, professional sport

  • Work medicine
    • analysis of working practices from an ergonomic perspective
    • consultancy on corrective movements in the workplace
    • preparation of a programme of movements to compensate for excessive strain
    • exercise sessions at the workplace during breaks
    • information on the correct methods for lifting and carrying heavy loads

  • Prevention
    • individual and group sessions geared towards preventing strain-induced damage to the motor system, particularly the spinal column (‘back school’), preventing damage due to inactivity of the circulation and minimising the risk factors caused by lack of movement
    • advice on healthy living
