About us

Who we are

The Melittaklinik team

The Melittaklinik is managed by the Waldner family. Franz Xaver Waldner, internal medicine specialist and PM&R physician, is medical director, while Andreas Waldner, neurology specialist and PM&R physician, runs the science and research department and Rupert Waldner is administration manager.

The Melittaklinik team comprises over 100 specialists who channel their professional expertise and passion into achieving our primary aim: offering the public, through our accreditation with the South Tyrol Health Service, equal treatment levels provided by public hospitals and outpatient department, with the advantages and comfort of a private clinic.

Mission & Vision

The health of all, with the highest of quality and efficiency

Our mission is to contribute towards promoting and furthering the health of the population in accordance with the ethical principles of our country, and with a focus on the wellbeing of both the individual and the wider community. In order to achieve these goals, we ensure access to rehabilitation therapy, surgery and other specialist medical equipment by integrating territorial medical care and hospital services.

Our vision is to contribute towards consolidating a system that guarantees practical, efficient, top-quality services based on the principles of ongoing quality improvement and customer satisfaction. This is ensured through optimal synchronisation of administrative procedures, rational use of resources and compliance with ethical principles.

Our guidelines

Shared values for shared success

Need-oriented services: We coordinate our tasks and our services in accordance with ethical principles governing healthcare and social needs.

Equal treatment for all: In line with ethical principles, we are committed to guaranteeing all patients access to services and equipment, to parity of needs and expertise.

Efficiency: In order to ensure that all healthcare and organisational aims are achieved, we align our therapies with clinical evidence.

Transparency in decision-making processes and in the use of and access to services in order to guarantee parity of treatment for all, and independent management of financial and human resources.

Staff involvement, to create a work environment in which each member of staff plays a primary role in operational and organisational decisions.

Innovation: We strive to promote continuous development of new expertise and skills, and to engage in ongoing further training opportunities.

Further training: We are committed to furthering the professional skills of all our employees and view ongoing professional training as the fundamental global strategy of an organisation.

Public participation: We provide the public with an active platform within the healthcare organisation in order to provide them with the means to participate responsibly in management decisions. We encourage patients to share in decisions regarding healthcare policy and in interdisciplinary projects, to impart information regarding services and the access thereto, to familiarise themselves with the clinic and the organisational structure, and to access innovative IT tools which facilitate admission procedures and optimise knowledge sharing.

In ensuring that these goals are achieved, no coercion, either moral or material, may be exerted on the patient when they are choosing between inpatient and outpatient services. To this end, the Melittaklinik warrants the free right of choice regarding doctors, hospitals and top-quality treatments, irrespective of the social background, ideological or political views, economic position, ethnicity, language, gender or age of the patient.
